Noted pundit Didi Hamann has watched Harry Kane have a spectacular season for Bayern Munich and thinks that recent rumors linking the striker to a move away from the club are “unlikely.”
“I wouldn’t know. He’s got a contract. I think he’s a very loyal guy, what I hear. Is he happy here? Well, I don’t know. Obviously, he came here to win trophies. He’s got a chance to win the big one, in the Champions League but there’s no guarantee that he does that,” Hamann told Free Bets. “I’d say it’s unlikely. I don’t think the club’s got any interest to sell him. Whether he’s got any interest to go back, I’m not sure. I wouldn’t think so. But then again, stranger things happen in football. Is he settled? I can’t answer the question. I haven’t really asked anyone or spoken to anyone.
“But the question is he happy? Is he happy with how things are going? They haven’t got a manager next season now. They still don’t know who the manager will be. Does a new manager want somebody else up top? Which is a possibility.”
Hamann did caution that even though things seem great on the periphery, anything can happen between now and the summer.
“There’s no hint of him going. But then again, things can change, and the bottom line is whether he’s happy. I think he’d be a lot happier if they were to win the Champions League, but there’s no guarantee they’re going to do that,” Hamann noted.
