Everton were beaten 2-0 in the Premier League by Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon
Armando Broja has revealed what Sean Dyche told his Everton players after their defeat to Nottingham Forest as he vowed to do everything he can to end his side’s scoring problems. After a promising December, the Blues saw their four-game unbeaten run come to an end at the hands of Nuno Espirito Santo’s side on Sunday afternoon.
Chris Wood opened the scoring for Forest after just 15 minutes before Morgan Gibbs-White sealed all three points for his side when he finished past Jordan Pickford just after the hour mark. The victory lifted Forest up to second in the Premier League table, while Everton are now just three points above the drop zone.
And asked what Sean Dyche’s message was in the dressing room after the game, Broja replied: “We had a few good performances on the run, and then today was obviously a frustrating afternoon for ourselves, so the manager just kind of reiterated the fact that it was a frustrating afternoon, but we’ve got to keep our minds on it, and we’ve got to bounce back. We definitely could have got more from the game, 100%, but we need to bounce back.”

Before he added: “We had a few good performances on the bounce, playing difficult opposition, and then came here today wanting more at home.
“I’m pretty sure we had quite a lot of the ball, but it was kind of a scrappy game. They were kicking it long a lot of times and winning a lot of second balls and things and just breaking from there. Like I said, it was a bit of a scrappy game, but we definitely wanted more from this, but we need to bounce back.”
The Albania international moved to Goodison Park on loan from Chelsea on deadline day but was sidelined for the opening months of the season as he continued to recover from an existing Achilles injury.
His return to action, though, comes at a point in time when his side has only managed to score 15 times this season, the lowest in the Premier League bar Southampton, but Broja has pledged to do everything he can to end his side’s problems in front of goal.
He said: “For me, every game I want to do my best. I want to help out the team as best I can. If that’s goals, if that’s with assists, if that’s with holding up the ball, if that’s running in behind, running the channels, getting on the ball, creating something.
“I always want to show something. Today I wouldn’t say was one of my best games, but I definitely have improved on it, but it was a frustrating afternoon for us all. But for sure I want to give everything and do better.”
Reflecting on his first start, the forward added: “For me, on a positive note, it was a special day because it’s been a long, long time since I started in the Premier League. It’s been frustrating with injuries and things like that, but I’m happy that I’m back fit and got my first start.
“I would’ve loved it if we’d won the game, and it would’ve been different, but we’ve got to bounce back. But I am delighted with the fact that I started.
“I’ve always been quite a confident boy, so I never really had nerves before a game ever. I was just kind of concentrating and trying to focus on the game ahead. It probably could have gone differently, but for me, I was just focusing on myself.”
