Both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly entered discussions with the representatives of Tyrick Mitchell, the 25-year-old Crystal Palace left-back, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the current season.
According to CaughtOffside, the London rivals are not alone in their pursuit, with AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, and Barcelona also monitoring Mitchell’s situation.
Mitchell, who has been a consistent presence for Palace this season, starting all 19 of their Premier League matches and registering three assists, has once again become a sought-after figure in the transfer market.
This is not the first time Mitchell has been linked with Arsenal. In early 2021, the Gunners reportedly considered him as potential cover for the often-injured Kieran Tierney, though Mitchell eventually renewed his deal with Palace that April.
The current interest in Mitchell raises questions about whether the player’s camp is leveraging these links to negotiate better terms with Palace. However, the calibre of clubs reportedly tracking him suggests genuine admiration for his abilities. Despite not fully delivering on the promise of his early senior career, Mitchell remains highly regarded, with his current market value estimated at £22m.
After starting with grassroots side Pinner Albion, he joined AFC Wembley, where coach Abdi Farah played a crucial role in mentoring him and eventually becoming his agent. A standout performance in a friendly match against Brentford’s academy earned him a spot in their youth system before he joined Palace in 2016.
Mitchell progressed through Palace’s ranks, becoming a key player in their U18 and U23 squads before earning his senior debut. His steady rise culminated in an England call-up in March 2022, and he has since earned two caps under Gareth Southgate, debuting in a 2–1 victory over Switzerland.
While the uncertainty over his future continues, Mitchell’s availability on a free transfer makes him an attractive prospect. Whether he stays in London or embarks on a new challenge abroad, the next chapter of his career promises to be a defining one.
