West Ham have looked clueless on and off the pitch all season and now they will have to muddle through without their talisman Jarrod Bowen.
Julen Lopetegui has been a disastrous appointment for West Ham.
The Spaniard has left fans baffled and bored with his tactics and team selections.
The Hammers have been awful to watch, winning just six of their Premier League games under Lopetegui.
West Ham were once again beaten in embarrassing fashion when they lost 5-0 to Liverpool last time out.
It was the eighth time the Irons have shipped more than three goals under Lopetegui.
He got his team selection all wrong yet again, having to make a raft of subs at half-time with his team 3-0 down.
Jarrod Bowen has been one of the few highlights of a dismal campaign.
Confusion after conflicting claims over Bowen injury
West Ham’s captain and talisman was left on the pitch for 30 minutes with a broken foot against Liverpool.
That sums up where the Hammers are at under Lopetegui.
In a game that was already dead and buried, Lopetegui should have had Bowen off to save him for another day.
Now he will have to make do without Bowen for at least two months.
It’s highly unlikely Lopetegui will even be West Ham’s manager by the time Bowen returns.
Games at Man City and Aston Villa are said to be key to the 58-year-old’s future. That can surely mean his long overdue sacking now looms large on the horizon.
Not only are Lopetegui’s team a terrible watch on the pitch, the manager himself is dull and uninformative off it.
His press conferences are are painfully pointless.
In the latest one he made a bizarre comment about Bowen.
But Dani Dyer has shared a big Bowen update after a sensational claim from West Ham boss Lopetegui.
Dyer shares big Bowen update after sensational Lopetegui claim
Lopetegui all too often bats away straightforward questions during interviews and press conferences.
He will offer very little detail and makes David Moyes look like a natural born entertainer with some of his answers.
When asked about Bowen’s injury ahead of Man City, Lopetegui bizarrely said the forward would be out for ‘a few days for sure’.
“Let’s see, but he’s going to be out for a few days for sure. Unfortunately for us he has an injury, he played for 30 minutes with it, and now he has to recover,” Lopetegui told the press about Bowen.
“It’s not good news for us, but we are sure he will work hard on his recovery because of his character.
“I prefer not to give a number of days, but we’ll see how things develop.”
How can you return from a fractured foot ‘in a few days’ for goodness sake.
Especially after it was confirmed by the club it would be two months at best.
Dyer picture shows Lopetegui is utterly clueless on star player
The comments caused confusion among fans with some convincing themselves he might even have a chance to face Man City!
Thankfully Bowen’s fiance Dani Dyer was at hand to make the situation perfectly clear.
Dyer posted a picture of Bowen with his left foot in a protective boot and leg raised on two giant bean bags to prevent swelling.
The Hammers star, who has the ball from West Ham’s Europa Conference League triumph proudly displayed on the wall, was playing on his computer.
What’s abundantly clear is that the West Ham hero certainly won’t be back in a “few days”.
Was Lopetegui simply being flippant or is he genuinely unaware or that misinformed to offer fans of the club such a lazy and inaccurate update?
Why is it West Ham find it so difficult to communicate injury news to supporters?
The least the manager can do after all he has put us through over the last six months, is keep us reliably informed.
Dyer’s picture of Bowen is depressing and was posted after Lopetegui’s ‘few days’ comments.
At least someone knows what is going on with West Ham’s best player.
Goodness knows we can’t rely on the manager to keep us properly updated.
