The transfer rumors are hotting up now that the January window is open, and we’re getting not only the usual slop but also some genuinely interesting reports. The latest is a mini-update from Ben Jacobs about both Randal Kolo Muani, Douglas Luiz, and (kinda) Marcus Rashford.
Randal Kolo Muani remains a top priority for Spurs. PSG want a loan with obligation.
Understand no talks so far between Spurs and Marcus Rashford’s camp despite historical interest. Rashford suitors continue to grow, though, as #MUFC are open to a loan.⚪️ pic.twitter.com/idb9WJJjM8

It’s no secret that a new attacker, especially one who can play across the attacking band, is a high priority for Spurs, and Kolo Muani ticks all of those boxes. Ben Jacobs is a journalist who pretty much writes up whatever agents or other sources tell him, so it’s not the most discriminating of sources for a transfer rumor, but he does corroborate that RKM is top of the list for Ange Postecoglou and Johan Lange, if they can work out a deal. Previous reporting was that PSG are ready to sanction a loan, but want a purchase obligation this summer, with prices rumored to be as high as €50m.
The Marcus Rashford bit is interesting, just a little LESS interesting. Rashford is likely heading out of Manchester United to SOMEONE this month, but it sounds like it might not be to Spurs, unless RKM falls through and Spurs are looking for another option later in the window.
Finally, reports are emerging in the Italian media (which I won’t even link to) that suggest Spurs might be interested in an approach for former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, 26, now at Juventus. The main reports are that Luiz, who has been mostly sidelined at Juventus this season, has been receiving major interest from Fulham. However, every single one of these reports are using weasel words like “Spurs COULD hijack Fulham’s interest SHOULD they finalize an approach” and other such garbage. This rumor screams “Luiz’s agent is trying to get more money out of Fulham by suggesting Spurs are interested” to me. The Athletic has already hinted that a new CM is unlikely this January unless they get a target too good to refuse, and I don’t get the sense this is a particularly high priority target, even if Luiz would be a decent signing.
