David Moyes could be poised to return to management following Everton’s decision to part ways with Sean Dyche.
The Toffees have been in dreadful form recently, and it seemed only a matter of time before Dyche was replaced. Former West Ham boss Moyes has been waiting patiently for a Goodison Park position to become available, and it remains to be seen whether his patience will be rewarded.
Everton were linked with a move for new Hammers boss Graham Potter, but as Claret & Hugh reported two days ago, the former Brighton manager only ever had eyes for the West Ham job.
One of the main reasons Potter opted for the London Stadium rather than Everton was West Ham’s stronger squad and ability to compete in the transfer market.
While Everton will soon move to their new stadium, their spending power is severely limited. If Moyes makes the short trip from his Cheshire home to Merseyside, he would face similar financial constraints to those he dealt with during his first stint at Goodison.
Earlier this season, Moyesie appeared on an Everton fan podcast where he revealed that Goodison Park was his spiritual home. Since then it has appeared only a matter of time before the Scotsman made his return.
