Former PSG manager Christophe Galtier was interviewed by West Ham Vice Chairman Karren Brady and Sporting director Tim Steidten before the appointment of Graham Potter.
A French source close to Galtier who contacted Claret and Hugh said it was obvious from the interview that Brady and Steidten had different views on who the next head coach should be, and the Vice Chairman had a particular preference which was not Galtier so the interview was successful.
We know that David Sullivan and Tim Steidten also interviewed former AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca last Sunday but that interview was also not successful.
When West Ham carried out their final interview for Graham Potter last Monday there was a full house, David Sullivan Karren Brady, Tim Steidten plus a number of other directors were present including Daniel Kretinsky who is thought to have joined by video link.
He must have impressed at that final interview to be appointed today although it appears he was the clear favourite all along with Karren Brady chief cheerleader for his appointment.
