Tottenham signing Randal Kolo Muani would leave Richarlison’s future in doubt
Tottenham Hotspur have hit the ground running in the January transfer window with the signing of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky and it looks as though they are only just warming up.
The North London outfit are looking to bolster their attacking ranks and have identified Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani as a potential target. They have been actively trying to conclude a deal for the 2022 World Cup finalist.
Kolo Muani hasn’t received the game time that he would have liked in the French capital this season. PSG, who signed the forward for big money in 2023 following his goalscoring exploits at Eintracht Frankfurt, are open to letting the Frenchman leave in this winter transfer window. Manchester United are also interested in the player, but Tottenham appear in a strong position to win the race for the PSG flop’s signature.
Ex-scout Bryan King wants Spurs to replace Richarlison with Kolo Muani in the attacking unit, with the former tipped for an exit this month.
“They must look to get a deal for Kolo Muani done,” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.
“However, that still leaves Richarlison’s future up in the air. They’ve got to get rid of him. Tottenham have got to get rid of him and replace him with a player of a higher quality.
“Richarlison had a big name when he arrived. However, he hasn’t produced the kind of form that you would expect considering the big money that was paid for him. Therefore, if you can move him on and put that money toward Kolo Muani, get it done.”
Kolo Muani’s arrival at Spurs would signal bad news for Richarlison, who has not yet had the impact that was expected of him when the club signed him from Everton in 2022. Thanks largely to his fitness concerns, the Brazilian has failed to reach his full potential.
The versatile South American forward’s persistent injury problems are perhaps starting to cause frustrations among the Hotspur Way chiefs, with the Daily Mirror journalist Darren Lewis revealing that Tottenham would consider selling him if a suitable offer came in this month. While Richarlison returned to training earlier this month, his inability to maintain fitness continues to cast doubts over his long-term future at N17.

It remains to be seen what happens with Richarlison, but the acquisition of Kolo Muani, who as per Alasdair Gold ticks a lot of boxes for Big Ange, would likely push him towards the club’s exit door.
