A new date for Goodison Park’s final Merseyside derby has been confirmed as the Toffees continue to say farewell to the historic stadium ahead of their summer move.
Everton will move into their new state-of-the-art Bramley Dock stadium at the end of the season with David Moyes the man tasked with leading the club into a new era.
The returning Everton manager will want to wave goodbye to one of the Premier League‘s oldest and most iconic grounds and will get the chance to do so against rivals Liverpool in the derby.
The famously feisty affair was originally set to be played at Goodison on December 7 but was postponed because of severe weather causing safety issues for spectators getting to the match.
Premier League organisers had been working to reschedule the tie and have now agreed to play the match on the evening of Wednesday, February 12 with a 7.30pm kick-off time.
The match will be televised live on TNT Sports as per the original agreement with the broadcaster who has rights to a select number of Premier League fixtures.

Jarrad Branthwaite scored the opening goal of last season’s Merseyside derby at Goodison Park
An unusual playing time of 7.30pm was decided by match schedulers with both teams set to play in their respective FA Cup fourth round fixtures just four days previous.
Everton will follow the Merseyside derby with a trip to Selhurst Park three days later, while rivals Liverpool host Wolves at Anfield.
The highly-anticipated match will be the final time Liverpool travel across the park to the home of their closest rivals where Everton have played since 1892.
Home supporters will be hoping for a repeat of their famous win in the fixture last season that saw the relegation-threatened Toffees secure a 2-0 win courtesy of goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
