Devyne Rensch has been linked with a move to the Blues and could leave this month
Ajax director Alex Kroes has admitted Devyne Rensch could leave the club this January. The right-back has been linked with a move to Everton and a number of clubs across Europe.
The 24-year-old’s contract in Amsterdam is set to expire at the end of the season, meaning the Blues could feasibly speak to the player about signing a pre-contract. That would potentially see Rensch join on a free transfer in the summer.
However, as relayed by Sport Witness, Kroes has confirmed an agreement could be reached mid-season in order to recoup some cash for the player.

“If you have already played against RKC a few times, such as last weekend, then at some point you also think: ‘I want to play against Juventus, Barcelona or Real Madrid’,” he said.
“We have tried to extend his contract and so far have not been successful. In the short term we want to keep him to qualify for the Champions League. But at the same time, you also have the chance that you can get a nice amount for him.”
As reported by Sport Witness, Algemeen Dagblad have reported that there are numerous potential suitors for the right-back. They also claim there is no chance of the Dutch international agreeing to an extension to his contract with Ajax.
Roma, who are also owned by The Friedkin Group, are said to be one of the other clubs interested in the player.
Everton currently have Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson and Ashley Young as right-back options, although Rensch’s arrival could potentially allow the latter to offer more competition to Vitalii Mykolenko at left-back.
