Tottenham will travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on Wednesday evening
Tottenham Hotspur will feel they have got a bit of momentum heading into the heated North London derby at the Emirates Stadium in midweek.
Spurs come into the game against fiercest rivals Arsenal on the back of an encouraging cup run. They defeated Liverpool 1-0 in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final at home last week before beating non-league side Tamworth FC 3-0 in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.
However, the Lilywhites’ Premier League form remains a concern, with no wins in their last four outings. Ange Postecoglou’s side are in 12th position and desperately need points to climb the table, and so does their rivals Arsenal albeit for different reasons. Having drawn 1-1 with Brighton in their last Premier League outing, Mikel Arteta’s men need points to continue their title push.

Ange Postecoglou faced the media on Tuesday afternoon for the pre-match duties. When asked whether a win against Arsenal could turn Spurs’ season around, the Australian told Football London.
“I don’t like framing games in terms of turning points because then you’ve got to go up to Everton and face David [Moyes] at the weekend. So, there’s no easy games. But in the position we’re in in the league, irrespective of turning points we need to start winning games and moving up the table. While this is a massive challenge tomorrow night, it’s an opportunity for us to do that.”
Indeed, Postecoglou and Tottenham cannot look far ahead having dropped a lot of points in the Premier League this season. it makes sense to take one game at a time and the first challenge that comes in their way is a trip to Arsenal.
Tottenham have only one of the last eight matches between the two sides, with their last victory at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League coming in 2010. Our record away at Arsenal is horrendous, but Big Ange’s boys have a bit of momentum in their side which the hosts are lacking at the moment.

Arteta’s side are winless in three games across all competitions, having lost 2-0 at home to Newcastle in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final before being dumped out of the FA Cup by Manchester United on Sunday. While form generally goes out of the window in derbies, Big Ange’s Spurs, who have received an injury boost in the form of Richarlison, perhaps have a great chance of beating the Gunners and ending their long-awaited league win at the Emirates.
