There are ample highly regarded talents within the corridors of Hotspur Way, and with such boasts of streets comes the responsibility to ensure that they take strides in their development along the seasons; one of those high-potential players is Dane Scarlett, and he has been officially recalled from his loan spell at Oxford United in the first half of the season.
The player joined Oxford United on a season-long loan in the summer window; however, he didn’t receive considerable minutes under his belt, which has forced the North Londoners to reconsider his options for the season.
And according to a report by Lilywhites correspondent Alasdair Gold via X, Scarlett is expected to continue his development on the road and is expected to be sent out on loan yet again in the ongoing winter transfer window.
Wrexham mooted as possible destination for Scarlett
Former Tottenham scout Bryan King insists that Wrexham could be a possible destination for the North Londoners starlet. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, he said:
“He was moved to a Championship side, and they had a management change. Des Buckingham, who brought Scarlett to Oxford United, was sacked, and Gary Rowett was brought in, and he obviously didn’t fancy the striker. Therefore, Scarlett needs to go to another Championship club if he is going to improve. He needs playing time.
“I would say it would be a move to a Championship club. However, perhaps a team near the top of League One could take a look at him – Wrexham could use a striker.”
Scarlett is one of the players who was highly attributed when he came into the picture at Hotspur Way; however, he has endured a difficult spell off late, and the glimpses of his potential are fading with time. That being said, it is very easy to forget that he is still very young and there is still a lot to come.
