Manchester City are expected to seal the signature of Real Valladolid defender Juma Bah imminently, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano
Writing on his X account, Romano said that the teenager’s switch to the Etihad is “set to be confirmed” with the player expected to be loaned out to Lens once the move is finalised.
The Premier League champions are said to have beaten the likes of Inter Milan and Fenerbahce in the race for Bah’s services.
Reports suggest that the Cityzens will pay around €13m (£11m) in compensation, with the money to be shared between Valladolid and former club AIK Freetong.
Valladolid are not happy with how the transfer has been handled
The La Liga side issued a lengthy statement on Wednesday morning claiming that they were unhappy with how City and the player have behaved.
They say that Bah did not turn up for training after his agent informed them that they were unilaterally breaking the contract with Valladolid.
It’s a complicated situation. Bah was on loan from AIK Freetong but Valladolid had triggered their option to sign him on a permanent basis at the end of his season. However, there was a buyout clause that has now been triggered.
City could sign four players in a week
Pep Guardiola’s side have already confirmed the arrival of Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens and Vitor Reis from Palmeiras.
Omar Marmoush has also reportedly undergone a medical ahead of sealing his €75m (£63m) switch from Eintracht Frankfurt so, if Bah’s move is announced over the coming days, the club will have secured four signings this month.
With the exception of Marmoush, though, it is questionable how many of them will have an impact on the first team straight away.
