West Ham are have reportedly agreed a fee with OH Leuven to sign midfielder Ezechiel Banzuzi.
The news comes just hours after the club denied any bid for the player, claiming the Belgian side would not do business during this transfer window. If the deal goes through it will be a victory for West Ham but as far as C&H is concerned, there is currently NO agreement.
That said, the last we heard was that the deal collapsed two weeks ago and Leuven did not wish to negotiate further during this window. Therefore, it was something of a surprise to hear that Banzuzi was indeed flying over for a medical.
The 19-year-old, valued at around £13 million, is reported to have been secured for £10 million upfront, with the remainder payable through performance-related add-ons.
Banzuzi, capped by the Netherlands at the U21 level, is tipped for a bright future and would be a solid acquisition for the Hammers.
The midfielder is in the final 18 months of his contract in Belgium, with Leuven reportedly willing to allow the player to enter his final year.
At the moment there appears to be utter confusion with numerous conflicting reports. But as things stand, there has been no confirmation from the club regarding any transfer or medical.
