Amazon is reportedly considering a potential partnership with West Ham United, according to Visit Example. Ex is a man who is usually pretty spot-on with this sort of stuff and he has given his latest update on his Patreon account.
The partnership could see Amazon becoming West Ham’s main shirt sponsor and acquiring the stadium naming rights, a move that would represent a significant step forward for the club.
However, as Matt reported on Claret & Hugh last week, the deal might also focus on introducing a ‘Moneyball’-style, data-driven recruitment programme using Amazon software.
With the Hammers struggling in the transfer market and failing to meet other clubs’ player valuations, any additional revenue would be a massive boost.
Current sponsors Betway are set to part ways with West Ham after a partnership spanning the club’s entire tenure at the London Stadium. Securing a globally recognised sponsor like Amazon would likely represent a significant upgrade.
And who knows—Jeff Bezos, with a net worth of $239.4 billion, might just have the resources to kickstart the Hammers’ faltering transfer activity
