Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea have now made an approach to bring in their first new January transfer signing of this window.
It’s been very quiet for The Blues in terms of any business being done so far, but we do still have some time left so it is clear that we could still see some things done and some more deals completed.
Sources: Liam Delap, Jhon Duran, Darwin Nunze, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, and Dusan Vlahovic – Transfer updates on new strikers!
We did see a report this week confirming that Chelsea have had their first agreed deal of the January window, so maybe more will now follow.
And perhaps the next deal agreed will finally be midfielder Cesare Casadei going to Lazio, because that sounds like it will be the next one incoming now.
But in terms of new arrivals, very little is going on right now, or at least there is very little out in the public eye on it. Maybe Chelsea are working behind the scenes on something. Let’s hope it’s a striker!
But for now, they continue to chase a winger, oddly, in the shape of Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United.
Bid incoming?
Fabrizio Romano put his latest post out on this situation late last night, and it was along with some quotes by Ruben Amorim basically opening the door for a Garnacho departure with some comments.
Romano posted on X:
“Chelsea are prepared to bid for Garnacho after initial approach made today (Thursday).”
It’s a very surprise pursuit for Chelsea, especially when they need to sign a new spine in this team as priority, rather than a new winger. I don’t think he’s a bad player at all, but he isn’t who Chelsea should be prioritising this window, especially if they are not signing a new striker.
