So, uh, let’s forget what happened to Bayern Munich in the Champions League and focus on some Bundesliga action. The boys in red will travel westward to the Black Forest where they visit SC Freiburg, a solid team hunting down Europe at the moment. With Bayer Leverkusen still only four points behind, Bayern must take all three points in this match.
Team news
Bayern coach confirmed that Alphonso Davies picked up an injury in the Champions League and revealed that Konrad Laimer is suspended for accumulation of yellow cards (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). On the other hand, he mentioned that Sacha Boey and João Palhinha “might be involved” in tomorrow’s matchday. With that in mind, here’s what the starting XI could look like:
It’s basically the best possible team Bayern can put out now. The changes here are as follows: Sacha Boey sliding in for Konrad Laimer, Leroy Sané in for Kingsley Coman, Raphaël Guerreiro (despite his subpar performance) in for Davies, and Aleksandar Pavlović for Leon Goretzka. Kim Min-jae needs a breather as he is making costly mistakes, and Eric Dier has shown to be a competent CB in Kompany’s system. It also looks like Sané is being proper chances to regain the trust of the board but he’ll need to pick up the pace; Coman simply raised Row Z ball-boy employment at Rotterdam last time out.
