Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in a new offensive player in the ongoing winter transfer window, and the Lilywhites are reportedly interested in bringing Southampton’s highly rated wide forward Tyler Dibling to White Hart Lane. And according to a recent claim by Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas, the Saints will be demanding somewhere along the lines of £55 million for the teenager’s services, especially given the fact that the likes of Chelsea and Aston Villa are also looking at his situation.
Tyler Dibling has been playing some splendid football this season, and he has showcased immense potential in the Premier League this season and showed his ability to not only glide past defenders easily but also his exceptional left foot complemented by his brave decision-making (which also shows great maturity at his age).
And given the fact that the Lilywhites have been chasing his signatures for a while, he seems to fit the bill at Hotspur Way. He is young and possesses high potential, and he would be ideal in Daniel Levy’s transfer policy of late.
Murphy reserves high praises for Dibling
Speaking about his performances this season, former Premier League star Danny Murphy has spoken highly about the teenager while highlighting his belief, physical power, and technical quality. He said via. BBC:
“It is the quality he has got – the belief in himself and the physical power. He just goes past people with ease. He has got a lovely left foot. He is very brave on the ball and his decision-making is good.
“It is difficult to get too over the top with these young players, because he has just come on to the scene, but he is going to be something special. It is great for him getting all these minutes at Southampton. They are giving him the freedom to play and giving him time to learn the game.
“He is just enjoying himself and he is playing with a real belief in himself. He is just instrumental in this team.”
It is to be seen if Levy does go on to fork out such hefty fees for a teenager, but we can surely cite the £40m that Tottenham spent on Archie Gray last summer to know that if Tottenham like the player, they aren’t afraid to put money where their mouth is…
