Tottenham have been interested in signing Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo
Tottenham Hotspur have been subject to aggressive links with a move for Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo, as Ange Postecoglou looks to add more vigour, bite and unpredictability to his attacking ranks. However, it is widely known that it will take a lot for Spurs to push for a move for the 24-year-old, given how impressive he has been for the Cherries this season.
Antoine Semenyo has hogged much of the headlines after Dominic Solanke’s departure to Spurs last summer, and he has been in scintillating form, with his latest highlight performance coming in Bournemouth’s 5-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest at the Vitality Stadium.
The Ghanaian iced the cake by scoring the fifth goal against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, taking his season’s tally to seven goals alongside three assists from 22 league outings. Thus, it is not surprising that multiple Premier League clubs are vying for his signature.
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Arsenal are keen on signing Semenyo and view him as a replacement for Bukayo Saka, who is currently out with a hamstring injury. Saka’s absence has affected the Gunners’ attacking unit, with the injury to the England international leaving them light on the right flank.
Needless to say, Bournemouth are keen to keep hold of one of their star players in January and will only consider offers at around £50 million. Semenyo has performed extremely well at Bournemouth across the last two seasons and is now open to leaving the Vitality Stadium with the ambition to prove himself at the highest level.
The aforementioned report adds Spurs are waiting patiently in the wings to see how things unfold over the coming days before formalizing their interest and making a move for the Ghana international, who is also wanted by Liverpool and Manchester United.
With increasing competition from multiple Premier League clubs, including our bitterest rivals Arsenal, Daniel Levy and Tottenham will have to hurry with the next steps to potentially try to sign Semenyo. Spurs can leverage their relationship with Bournemouth from their Solanke signing in an attempt to land the versatile forward.
Levy has to loosen his purse strings and get in Semenyo, who has the potential to be one of the best wide players in the Premier League.
