Our predicted MUFC XI vs Liverpool is now in…
Well, here we are again. We return to the ground where we suffered the worst result of my lifetime last season. The good thing in football? You always have a chance to put things right. Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United go into this game with a massively injury-hit squad, though you just never know…
Games against Liverpool are always interesting. As a bare minimum, I’d expect to see some fight and passion from the lads, as they’ll still be hurting from that disastrous result last time out in this fixture. What’s worrying here is that our form is pretty horrendous, meaning confidence could be low.
I’d be surprised if we see Harry Maguire or Luke Shaw involved here, while Bruno Fernandes is banned. Anyway, with that in mind, let’s give you the full run down of our likely team for this clash.
Check out our predicted MUFC XI vs Liverpool in full here:
Andre Onana has actually been pretty good domestically so there is absolutely no reason to change the goalkeeper here.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka faces a tough afternoon against a potent Liverpool attack. He will have to be on top form. Sergio Reguilon should come into the side in place of the aforementioned Shaw. Victor Lindelof should be back after a minor issue, with the Ice Man set to partner Raphael Varane at the heart of the defence.
The midfield is decimated right now. Bruno is absent which makes it tougher. Kobbie Mainoo will come back into the side as a result. Sofyan Amrabat has been playing some steady football of late so he will continue. Scott McTominay starts in behind the striker.
What a time this would be for Rasmus Hojlund to find his first Premier League goal, eh? To his right and left respectively is Antony and Alejandro Garnacho. We’re going to need some serious production from these two here.
