Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Donny van de Beek will join Eintracht Frankfurt on loan until the summer.
Manchester United Football Club need to sell players, preferably in January if at all possible. Erik ten Hag has too much dead wood on the books at this point, though the lack of Champions League football (and games) may actually persuade some fringe players to leave.
One man whose future has been talked about this week is Donny van de Beek. Rumours of a potential move to Eintracht Frankfurt have been popping up with more and more frequency.
Now, the usually reliable Fabrizio Romano has weighed in on the situation. He has given his patented ‘here we go’ on this transfer ahead of the January window.
The Italian journalist has confirmed that the United outcast is now set to depart, presumably in January, with a verbal agreement in place.
It’s going to be a loan until June, with a buy option included, in a potential package worth around £13m. That buy fee is not mandatory, thus giving the German club a decision to make next summer. There is a loan fee coming United’s way, though.

More than anything, I’m pleased for Donny. He deserves to go somewhere and play. Sadly, it just hasn’t worked out for him here. He has been fighting a losing battle from the start.
He’s not a bad player, just one who is low on confidence right now. Not too many years ago, he was flourishing in an Ajax midfield under Ten Hag. Even he couldn’t get the Dutchman back to form here at the Theatre of Dreams.
Let’s hope Donny does well and it’s a no-brainer for Frankfurt to sign him permanently. Getting those wages off the books, while generating some transfer fee back for a player who isn’t making matchday squads right now, would be a nice boost.
