Marcus Rashford has been dealing with the winter vomiting bug, Norovirus, ahead of Man United vs Liverpool…
Manchester United are yet to get the correct tune out of Marcus Rashford in the 2023/24 campaign. It has been tough for Erik ten Hag, who is basically competing without his top scorer from last season.
Rashford’s confidence is shot at this stage. The fans are starting to get on his back for a lack of effort, which I have to be honest, it has been noticeable at times.
The Englishman hasn’t been feeling fighting fit this week, missing out with an illness lately.
Now, the Daily Mail have confirmed that the United star has been suffering with the Norovirus ahead of a huge game vs Liverpool tomorrow.
Norovirus, also known as the winter vomiting bug, ruled Rashford out of the Bayern game in midweek, though yesterday, Ten Hag did confirm that the attacker should be back available for Anfield away on Super Sunday.
There will no doubt be question marks about how close to full fitness Rashy is. He’s not going to be bang on 100%, meaning I would be surprised if he starts. Alejandro Garnacho is simply in better form on the left-wing, with Antony preferred over on the right.
All that said, Rashford is still United’s best attacker as things stand. Yes, he’s in poor form, but the only way to allow him to fight out of it is by playing. Imagine if he comes off the subs bench and nets the winner in front of the Kop this weekend? What a massive confidence boost that would be for him.
Hopefully, he’s feeling well enough to play some part.
