Man United have eyes on Nice midfielder, Khephren Thuram, over a potential transfer.
Midfield hasn’t been good at Manchester United this season. Time and time again, whichever players have been selected in that area of the field have been bypassed far too easily. Whether it’s an effort issue, a coaching problem or the footballers available in that area not being good enough remains to be seen.
Erik ten Hag has some major decisions to make in regard to the playing personnel. Signings are needed, though acquiring the best players in the mid-season window is nigh-on impossible. You’d imagine next summer is going to be heavily focused on the central area.
Over the last 24 hours or so, a new name has been thrown into the ring; Khephren Thuram.
It comes from Calciomercato, with our friends Stretty News translating the information. They state that United are in contact over the signing of the 22-year-old midfielder, though they’ll face competition for the potential transfer addition.
Liverpool and Manchester City are also keen on Thuram, while Juventus have recently failed with a move to sign the Ligue 1 player.
What makes this interesting is Thuram plays for INEOS-owned Nice. I do wonder if Sir Jim Ratcliffe could use his influence with Thuram, and push the midfielder to make the move to Old Trafford. Let’s be honest, that’s the only chance we have, as from a pure footballing perspective, he’d choose City or Liverpool every single day of the week.
I’ll reiterate that this feels like a transfer that’s more likely to happen in the summer rather than the mid-season window, but I guess in football anything can happen…
