Man United have been boosted by the return to training of Christian Eriksen after a month-long absence.
Manchester United battled hard for a point away at Anfield yesterday, with the lads putting in the required effort to earn themselves a draw. It does show that they’re still fighting for their manager. Extra credit to those that played, as many senior players were missing through either injury or suspension…
Well, the injury problems are easing up a little bit, with United boosted by the return of one midfielder to training today; Christian Eriksen was back out on the AON Training Complex pitches, after missing the last month or so due to injury.
The Dane had been a regular in the middle of the park due to injuries suffered by others. Whether or not he’ll have an easy path back into the side remains to be seen, with the likes of Kobbie Mainoo now shining and playing well.

The initial diagnosis of the knee injury was that Eriksen would be ready to return in mid-December, so the doctors were bang on the money here. Obviously, Christian will need a week or so to get the energy back in his legs after so long out, so I’d be surprised if we see him in the side this weekend against West Ham for example.
Eriksen may not have the legs and energy he once had, but I’d argue he’s still our best on-ball midfielder. He has the range of passing, the ideas in his head and the skill to execute that killer ball through the lines. With the right abilities in and around him, he can still do a job for this United side between now and the end of the season.
Make no mistake about it. he’ll get those opportunities too, as the midfield has been so decimated by injury this season.
Welcome back, Christian!
