Man United had scouts in attendance over the weekend, watching Serhou Guirassy as Stuttgart played Bayern Munich.
Manchester United Football Club have been struggling for goals from their lead striker this season. The Old Trafford side are yet to see Rasmus Hojlund score in the Premier League this term, despite his good performances.
Anthony Martial’s head could be on the chopping block when January rolls around, meaning that Erik ten Hag could do with bringing in some help for the aforementioned Dane.
Serhou Guirassy has been linked with a United transfer somewhat heavily over the last couple of weeks. The man from Guinea is in the form of his life over in Germany, scoring sixteen goals in the Bundesliga this term for VfB Stuttgart.
Now, 90min.com have provided the latest information on that front, claiming United, along with other teams, ‘had scouts present’ watching the striker over the weekend.
Guirassy led the line for Stuttgart against Bayern Munich in a 3-0 losing effort, meaning the club officials in attendance probably weren’t too impressed with what they witnessed from the 27-year-old forward this time around.
Fulham, West Ham and Milan also had scouts keeping an eye on Guirassy this weekend.
Once again, it’s reiterated that Guirassy’s reps are confident about a January transfer away from VfB Stuttgart this January, due to a relatively low release clause in his contract (worth around £15m).
Whether or not Guirassy would improve United remains to be seen. He’s 27 and this is the first time he’s really set the world alight in terms of goals scored. I actually believe he’s a product of his current environment, rather than this devastating finisher who’ll score goals galore for any club in the world. Would I still take the gamble though? Absolutely as United are desperate.
