I know we’re all busy talking about Emerson Royal today, but he’s likely not the only Tottenham Hotspur player to leave the club before the transfer window closes. For example, the Mirror’s transfer blog has a short post this morning that says Tottenham’s 20-year-old striker Jude Soonsup-Bell is now likely to be sold this month if the club gets a suitable offer, with a number of unnamed clubs interested in his services.
Jude Soonsup-Bell now likely to leave Tottenham on a permanent basis this summer if he does move on. 20yo forward is in the final year of his deal and has suitors in the UK + overseas. #THFC won’t stand in the way of an exit. More in @MirrorFootball blog https://t.co/rMVCmaV7qZ

The Mirror says that the plan was initially to have him sent off on loan this season, but Tottenham won’t be opposed to him leaving if another club comes in for him permanently.
Tottenham poached Soonsup-Bell from Chelsea’s academy in January of the 2022-23 season and he slotted straight into the U21 squad and the Premier League 2. A prolific scorer at youth level, he was Tottenham’s second highest goal-scorer for last season’s PL2 league winning side with 10G+5A in 19 matches, behind only Will Lankshear’s 18G+1A. That said, he’s 20 now and hasn’t gotten the same kind of first team buzz that BIG WILLY LANKS or even Dane Scarlett have over the past season, despite being a solid talent.
But honestly, that’s the whole point of the academy. Spurs clearly nicked him off of the Blues in order to flip him for a small profit, and that’s likely what they’ll end up doing. And that’s great! It’s what the academy is for. Soonsup-Bell could end up somewhere in, say, the Championship or League 1 and work his way up the ladder, having a very good career in the process. That’s how it’s supposed to work, and it appears that’s exactly how it has worked this time around. Good for him.
