Bayern Munich midfielder brought three primary attributes with him to Bavaria from East Germany when he made his transfer official during the summer transfer window in 2023 — energy, aggression, and an insatiable desire to win.
For the former RB Leipzig star, those are his calling cards as a player.
“I think I’ve always been like that on the pitch. I don’t want to lose these 1v1 situations under any circumstances – no matter who I’m playing against and where on the pitch. This feeling is always there: I either don’t want to lose the ball under any circumstances — or win at all costs. It’s been like that for as long as I can remember,” Laimer told FCBayern.com (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Laimer’s energy, aggression, and desire to win are certainly aspects of his game that all of his coaches have loved, but will they be enough to differentiate him from the competition for playing time in the central midfield this season?
The Austria international will have to be at his best to break into the starting XI.
