Sky Sport journalist Kerry Hau recently posted an interesting note on X — Bayern Munich’s only remaining member from its heralded 2022 summer transfer window class is young Frenchman Mathys Tel:
A year ago Sadio Mané and Ryan Gravenberch, now Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui: Only Mathys Tel remains from the promising FCB transfer summer of 2022 – but at least there is also a small transfer fee plus.
➡️ Mané: Came for 32 million € , left for 30
➡️ Gravenberch: Came for 18.5, went for 40
➡️ de Ligt; Came for about 70, goes for 45 + 5
➡️ Mazraoui: Came free, goes for 15 + 5
Expenses: approx. 120 million €
Revenue: approx. 130 million € , with bonus payments even up to 140
That…is pretty insane.
Sure, Sadio Mané was cooked and Ryan Gravenberch was an immature malcontent, but Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui were productive, consistent, and good citizens.
Somewhere, former sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidžić is rolling over in his samurai suit.
