Bayern Munich has scored more than 90 goals in the past five Bundesliga seasons, and this campaign should be no different. Bayern’s attack is littered with world class finishers who have scored at every level imaginable. Vincent Kompany’s squads at Anderlecht and Burnley both scored more goals once he took over, and Bayern should be no different.
#9 Harry Kane
2023/24 Stats: 45 matches, 44 starts, 3,928 minutes, 44 goals, 12 assists
Financials: €100M market value, €25M salary, 3 years remaining on contract
Origin Story: €95M transfer from Tottenham in 2023
Scheme Fit: Guaranteed Starter. Kane averaged a goal per game last year and this season should be no different. Kane will be one of the main beneficiaries of Kompany’s system where he will have the freedom to drop into the buildup play but also score his fair share of tap-ins.
#42 Jamal Musiala
2023/24 Stats: 38 matches, 33 starts, 2,843 minutes, 12 goals, 6 assists
Financials: €130M market value, €5M salary, 2 years remaining on contract
Origin Story: Academy product; promoted from FC Bayern U19 in 2020
Scheme Fit: Guaranteed Starter. Musiala is one of the most talented players in the world and will only get better with age and experience. He is most effective in the half spaces, rather than playing as a true winger or number ten. Kompany and his staff will need to be tactically creative to maximize Musiala’s effect on the game, but if they can get him rolling then opposing defenses will have no chance.
#25 Thomas Müller
2023/24 Stats: 41 matches, 25 starts, 2,170 minutes, 7 goals, 10 assists
Financials: €8M market value, €20.5M salary, 1 year remaining on contract
Origin Story: Academy product; promoted from FC Bayern II in 2009
Scheme Fit: Solid contributor. While playing the role of the fun uncle, Müller also organizes Bayern’s press better than anyone else. He’s an expert at exploiting space and passing lanes, but his age will likely prevent him from logging another 2,000-minute season.
#7 Serge Gnabry
2023/24 Stats: 20 matches, 10 starts, 763 minutes, 5 goals, 1 assist
Financials: €40M market value, €18.9M salary, 2 years remaining on contract
Origin Story: €8M transfer from Werder Bremen in 2017
Scheme Fit: Solid contributor. Gnabry’s 2023/24 campaign was ravaged by injuries. He’s been the subject of transfer rumors but the asking price, coupled with his exorbitant salary, made him undesirable for other clubs. If he can take care of his body, Gnabry will be expected to play meaningful minutes in most matches. With Eric Choupo-Moting gone, Gnabry will play as a second striker or as a winger, depending on who else is around him.
