After weeks of speculation, the transfer of Bayern Munich star Matthijs de Ligt to Manchester United is finally complete.
De Ligt will move to the Premier League after being labeled as expendable by the new Bayern Munich front office and coaching staff. De Ligt came to Bayern Munich in the vaunted “Summer Transfer Window Class of ‘22”, but will leave the club without having won a Champions League title as the club played head coach roulette during his tenure:

The move has to be at least a little bittersweet for De Ligt, who had dreamed of playing for Bayern Munich and turned in two very good seasons, but carried a heavy salary, which made him a target for sale by the new regime in the club’s front office.
