Every Bayern Munich fan knows and understands the importance of Mia san Mia, the club’s motto which roughly translates to “we are who we are”. This is the motto that Bayern players and fans alike are meant to live by. This is the motto that shows the world that Bayern is extremely proud of its roots but maintains its humility despite the growth of the club. Vincent Kompany, one of the newer members of the Bayern family, was asked about the quote and this is what he said per @iMiaSanMia:
Kompany on the ‘Mia san mia’: “I understand it as a feeling. We have to win and celebrate, but we also have to keep going. It’s about the club, the next step – how can we get better? We can be proud of the past, but we are successful because we think about the future” pic.twitter.com/7tzrlH5BHX

Here are Kompany’s words: “I understand it as a feeling. We have to win and celebrate, but we also have to keep going. It’s about the club, the next step – how can we get better? We can be proud of the past, but we are successful because we think about the future”
Indeed, Kompany has it right. Hopefully, he can embody that Mia san Mia mentality.
