Is Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala the best young attacking midfielder in the world?
He certainly ranks among the very best — as those who have played with and against him can confirm.
Manchester City and England star defender Kyle Walker, citing conversations with his Three Lions teammate Harry Kane during EURO 2024, is one of them.
“I can’t choose,” Walker said recently on Sky Sports — comparing Musiala and Real Madrid’s Jamal Bellingham — as captured via @iMiaSanMia. “I think [Musiala]’s a breath of fresh air. How he carries the ball, glides with the ball. I spoke with Harry [Kane] a lot over the summer and obviously we talked about him. He just said he’s unbelievable. I played against him and you know you kind of think he’s a little bit young, you can try and get around him and bully him but you know he took it like a duck to water so I think he was incredible.”

Kane would know, as Musiala’s club teammate. And Walker went up against the Bayern and Germany youngster in the 2023 Champions League quarterfinals. But in last summer’s transfer window, he had a shot to end up a Bayern player himself — and then he and Musiala would have been teammates.
