Wolfsburg coach Ralph Hasenhüttl knows that his team has a tall task ahead of it in playing Bayern Munich on Sunday in the Bundesliga opener for both clubs.
“Bayern is a team that doesn’t have many weaknesses. But we’re playing against 11 players on the pitch and there’s always a chance – that’s the nice thing about football, that you always have a chance no matter the opponent. We’re looking forward to the first game of the season and hopefully to a successful season. We know we’re capable of creating chances to score,” said Hasenhüttl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Hasenhüttl also had nice things to say about new Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany.
“He was a great player and has a legend status at Manchester City. When I was at Southampton I had a couple of players with him on loan at Burnley. They had a great development there, he’s capable of developing young players,” said Hasenhüttl. “He had a great season with Burnley in the championship and got promoted. But the Premier League is much tougher and it’s so difficult to stay up. The way he plays football and the way he’s structured, he’s giving a very good image – he’s been showing that with Bayern in preseason.”
Hasenhüttl understands the odds his team is facing, but the veteran coach is well-equipped to give Bayern Munich a lot to think about as it attempts to secure three points.
