It wasn’t all easy for Bayern Munich, who had to fight to secure their 3-2 win over Wolfsburg in their league opener for the new season.
It was a nerve wracking match, that took an ugly turn in the second half after Wolfsburg quickly went 2-1 up.
Speaking after the game to DAZN (via @iMiaSanMia), Joshua Kimmich recognized what exactly went wrong after the 45 minute mark: ”We had 2-3 good chances in the first half and didn’t concede any chances. The start of the second half was bad, we made mistakes and immediately conceded a penalty and then a second goal. The pitch today was very challenging for both teams. You could see it was tough to play quick and direct football and difficult to control the game.”
Kimmich continued, crediting the players’ mentality to win the game: “In the end we’re happy we managed to win today although not everything was perfect. The mentality was definitely there.”
