In the past week, it has become increasingly clear that Kingsley Coman wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer and it now seems like will likely happen. The club has already come out and said they would let him leave and they have also made it clear that they do not plan on signing a replacement in the event he does leave. They feel they already have enough quality in depth in the attacking area of the pitch; so much to the point that they are fine with letting Coman leave without a reinforcement coming in.
As things stand, a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal is on the table for Coman and Bayern, though there are also clubs interested in trying to sign the French winger. Financially, it would make the most sense for Bayern to accept the offer from Al-Hilal, as that would likely give them the greatest financial return.
The German transfer window is just days away from closing, but with new information from L’Equipe’s Loic Tanzi (via @iMiaSanMia), Coman could wait until after the European transfer window closes before making a decision on the big offer from Al-Hilal. For the Saudi club, their transfer window remains open through September 2nd, so Coman could make his decision up until then, since the buying club’s transfer window would not technically be closed yet. As things stand, with the lucrative offer the Saudi outfit has submitted to Bayern, the Rekordmeister likely would not accept anything less from another club from a club like Liverpool in the Premier League — Arne Slot’s side have also shown recent interest in Coman.
The French winger’s Bayern contract currently runs through June 2027, but he has already won every trophy there is to win and could possibly feel uneasy with the addition of Michael Olise to Bayern’s attack. It is yet another player to compete for minutes with under new manager Vincent Kompany — and a player that has a far better track record when it comes t injury history. For both Coman and Bayern, a split might be the best thing at this point, it is just a matter of making sure the offer is right and Coman is happy with his destination.
