On Wednesday night, UEFA announced the Champions League group stage schedule. Under the new Swiss format, each team will play two opponents from each of the four pots.
Bayern Munich will host matches at the Allianz Arena against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Benfica, Dinamo Zagreb, and Bratislava. Bayern will travel to matches at Barcelona, Shakhtar Donetsk, Feyenoord, and Aston Villa. Due to the Ukraine situation, the match against Shakhtar will be played at a neutral site in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
The Champions League final will be played in Bayern’s home stadium on May 31, 2025.
Joshua Kimmich (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) immediately reacted to the draw and said, “There are some teams that we haven’t played against very often. Above all, I’m looking forward to meeting Hansi Flick and FC Barcelona again and also to the game against Paris. For me, these are formally the two strongest opponents, although we shouldn’t underestimate any of the other clubs. They can all be very close games. Nevertheless, our goal must be to qualify directly for the round of 16. And what could be better than being there for the final in May 2025 in the Allianz Arena, in our own stadium.”
This message echoed Thomas Müller’s video. The players have a great respect for Hansi Flick and acknowledged that he is the most difficult matchup during the group stage.
