Bayern Munich were one of the nine teams in Pot 1 as UEFA conducted the very first draw of the Champions League in the new format. Each team will play eight matches, four home and four away, against eight other teams — two from Pot 1, two from Pot 2, two from Pot 3, and so on.
The only rules here are — you can’t face a team from the same country, and you can’t face more than two teams from the same country. The whole thing is so complex, the process had to be conducted by a computer. Bayern Munich got a pretty favorable draw, all things considered.
