According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich has inked Gabriel Vidović to a contract extension and subsequently sent him off on a loan assignment to Mainz 05:

Per Bild (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich secured a buyback clause in the arrangement:
Bayern have secured a buy-back clause for Vidović in case Mainz activate the option to buy.
Julian Buhl, of t-online, reported that Eintracht Frankfurt, Genoa, Tottenham Hotspur, Espanyol, and Brest were also interested in Vidović, who had a very strong summer (via @iMiaSanMia):
In addition to Mainz, Frankfurt, Genoa, Tottenham, Espanyol and Brest were also interested in Vidović. Some interested clubs wanted to sign him permanently. However, Bayern only wanted to loan him out and will observe his development closely.
