Update — 8:50AM EDT: Coman not likely headed to Saudi Arabia
According to Bild journalist Michel Schröer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman is unlikely to move to Al-Hilal:
The current tendency is that Kingsley Coman will not accept Al Hilal’s offer and will stay in Munich.
According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman has concrete interest from Al-Hilal. Coman is not being forced out by the Bavarians, but they would let him walk (and collect a nice fee in the process):
EXCL: Al-Hilal offering around €40m for FC Bayern’s Kingsley #Coman ✔️
No decision has been made yet.
Bayern is not putting any pressure on the 28y/o, but they would be willing to let him go.
L’Equipe journalist Loïc Tanzi is reporting that Al-Hilal must sell a foreign player before it can finalize a deal for Coman (via @iMiaSanMia):
Al Hilal must sell a foreign player in order to be able to sign Kingsley Coman. The Saudi club is hoping to offload Renan Lodi, but negotiations are stalling. The Saudi window closes on Monday
Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl also addressed the Coman situation as today’s press conference.
“He’s under contract and of course will be in the squad if he’s still here. The transfer window in other leagues will still be open for longer. But there’s no big indication that we’ll be going into the season with a much-changed squad [compared to right now],” Eberl said (via @iMiaSanMia).
Arsenal was also rumored to have some interest in Coman as well, though it seemed far less serious than Al-Hilal’s approach.
