Rayan Cherki of Olympique Lyonnais was in the transfer rumor mill this past summer as he was linked to Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur. Despite the rumors of an exit, the Frenchman has opted to remain with Les Gones.
Last month, L’Equipe reported that Cherki hoped that PSG would reignite their interest in him. While he received attention from Premier League clubs, he’s not keen on moving there.
The 21-year-old finished the 2023-24 season with three goals and nine assists in 39 matches across all competitions. Even though the player could have left as a free agent in 2025, the player intends to stay at OL for the foreseeable future.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Cherki has agreed to extend his contract at Lyon until 2026, with an option of another year.

It will be interesting to see whether the player decides to see out his entire contract with Lyon. However, the Ligue 1 side could use the new contract to have leverage in selling Cherki next summer as they look to secure a significant sum for him.
