Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique is guiding the capital club into a new era without Kylian Mbappé. While the Spanish tactician understands the Frenchman’s decision, he couldn’t help but take a hilarious dig.
Mbappé left PSG this past summer as a free agent to sign with the Spanish side. Enrique had the player for one season, and he helped lead the squad to a Ligue 1 title, a Coupe de France trophy, and the UEFA Champions League semifinal appearance.
Nonetheless, the 25-year-old opted to begin a new chapter of his career in Madrid with Los Blancos. Enrique noted in his documentary that he respects the player’s decision, but he would’ve liked for it to be another club.
“Kylian Mbappé is a wonderful player and a fantastic person, it’s difficult to find a special guy like him,” Enrique told Movistar. “He’s fantastic. It was just a pity to see him leaving and joining Real Madrid.”

PSG started the post-Mbappé era on a positive note with a plethora of goals, but in their last two matches, the Ligue 1 side have struggled to find the back of the net with only two goals.
It’s the club’s first adversity when they don’t have their star player to bail them out. These next few games will be interesting to follow.
