Cole Palmer asked ‘what about four?’ when told to put three fingers up to represent a hattrick in a Blues photo shoot.
The England star bagged an incredible four goals in the first half of his side’s Premier League clash with Brighton on Saturday.
He made Premier League history in the process, becoming the first player to score four goals in the first half of a clash.
But despite becoming a record-breaker, Palmer himself may not have been so surprised by his feat, given he appeared to predict it earlier this season.
In a video now going viral on social media, Palmer was asked to stick three fingers up in a photoshoot, representing a hattrick.
“What about four?” he asked the crew.
He then counted one, two, three on his right hand, before throwing up his left with four fingers up.
Blues fans immediately remembered his Mystic Meg moment as he netted his fourth goal of the afternoon.
“And he’s just scored 4 yeah he’s too sick,” one said on X, responding to the video.
Another said: “He is just the best player in the league at this point, Cole Palmer man what a player.”
Saturday marked Palmer’s third ever hat-trick for Chelsea, with the other two coming against Manchester United and Everton last season.
His tally has equalled those of Chelsea legends Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard in the Premier League.
Palmer has now netted a whopping 31 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions.
28 of those have come in the Premier League.
Brighton had gone ahead through Georginio Rutter, but his early goal was cancelled out by Palmer in the 21st minute.
Palmer then put his side ahead with a penalty shortly after, with him securing the hattrick three minutes later.
Brighton’s Carlos Baleba pulled one back to make it 3-2, but Palmer struck again just before the half time whistle to complete his quad.
The Blues sit second in the table at the time of writing.
