On TalkSport today, Simon Jordan and Danny Murphy were in agreement with presented Jim White that it was a bit mad that Cole Palmer had won England’s Player of the Year award this week.
They all agreed it was silly that Palmer won the award, given he hadn’t started a game for England at the Euros, and had played less than 200 minutes in total for his country in the last year.
Fans are getting excited by his form for Chelsea, especially in the last few weeks, but that’s not really what the award is about. Jordan called him the “flavour of the month,” while Murphy added that his selection was a “sad indictment” of England’s Euro form.
