Maybe it’s BFW staffer Tom Adams but it’s getting a little English around here.
Bayern Munich’s English speaking contingent has grown in recent years. In addition to last season’s arrivals of England internationals and former Tottenham Hotspur teammates Harry Kane and Eric Dier, the Bavarians targeted the Premier League in this summer’s transfer window with the additions of Michael Olise and João Palhinha from Crystal Palace and Fulham, respectively.
Not to mention the presence of Canadian Alphonso Davies and other players with EPL pasts — Leroy Sané (Manchester City), Serge Gnabry (Arsenal FC), and Jamal Musiala (Chelsea FC).
“There is a lot of English spoken in the dressing room now,” Musiala explained in a recent Guardian interview (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
As for learning German? The Guardian asked about who has picked up the new language the best.
“Michael not. Harry? I think he can say a couple of words. Maybe Eric,” Musiala declared.
As they say though: football itself is a universal language.
