Victor Osimhen, who was heavily linked with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain until the final week of the summer transfer window, might be available for a more affordable price next year.
The 25-year-old moved to Galatasaray on loan after being unable to secure a permanent transfer from Napoli. However, the Nigerian is still demonstrating his talent and showing why he’s considered one of the top strikers in the game.
Osimhen has recorded six goals and registered four assists in eight appearances across all competitions. Now, according to Turkish outlet Sozcu, Galatasaray is keen to make his stay permanent. The club is reportedly willing to pay £42 million to sign Osimhen permanently.
Nonetheless, that transfer fee might not be enough to keep the player, as Napoli might want a sum closer to his release clause, which could be considered economical, especially if Osimhen continues this goal-involvement rate.
The release clause for Victor Osimhen is revealed
According to Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Le10Sport), Victor Osimhen’s release clause will be around €80M in January. Although the 25-year-old striker is currently on loan at Galatasaray, he could still make a move this winter if a club activates his clause or reaches a financial agreement with Napoli.
The report also suggests that Osimhen’s release clause will drop to around €70 million next summer. This gives PSG a great opportunity to sign the Nigerian forward, especially since he’s struggled to score in the Champions League, with just three goals—one of which was an own goal—in four matches.
It remains to be seen if PSG will make a move for him in 2025.
