Victor Osimhen, who was strongly linked with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain until the final week of the summer transfer window, could be offered to a Premier League club next year.
The 25-year-old joined Galatasaray on loan after a permanent move from Napoli didn’t materialize. Despite the move, Osimhen has continued to showcase his talent, proving why he’s regarded as one of the top strikers in the world.
So far, he’s scored six goals and provided four assists in just eight appearances across all competitions. According to Turkish outlet Sozcu, Galatasaray is eager to make his move permanent, with the club reportedly ready to offer £42 million to secure his signature.
Tuttomercatoweb reports that Osimhen’s release clause will be around €80 million in January, but it’s expected to drop to approximately €70 million next summer.
Newcastle United is the latest to be linked to Victor Osimhen
The Chronicle (h/t TEAMtalk) reports that Newcastle are likely to be offered the chance to sign the player when he looks for a new club at the end of the season.
Osimhen’s representatives believe Newcastle are among several Premier League clubs that could be interested in a high-profile move for their client.
These representatives are also aware that Newcastle scouted Osimhen before his transfer from Charleroi to LOSC Lille in August 2019.
Newcastle officials were likely impressed by his recent performance against Premier League opposition, as he scored twice in Galatasaray’s 3-2 UEFA Europa League win over Tottenham on Thursday.
