In Bayern Munich’s 3-0 win over Augsburg, Harry Kane scored another hat trick to stretch his Golden Boot lead over Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush to a three goal margin. On top of his four goal outing against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, this was Kane’s third Bundesliga hat trick of the season.
Germany (and future Bayern?) captain Joshua Kimmich left today’s match rather in awe of Kane’s penalty kick conversion rate.
“We trust [Kane] blindly with penalties and he’s paying the trust back,” said Kimmich (via @iMiaSanMia). “It’s sometimes seen as easy from the outside but it’s not. 25 consecutive penalties converted is incredible.”
Kane’s penalty kicks are even more impressive based on the accuracy of the kicks and the movement of the opposing goalkeepers. Unless the keeper is already on the ground, Kane usually hits the side or corner of the net. In the other opportunities, Kane usually stutters to force the keeper to pick a side before calming slotting the shot to the other side.
