Ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League showdown with Paris Saint-Germain, the Bavarians held an open training session where Joshua Kimmich spoke about the game.
“It’ll be tough because Paris are a good team and because it’s the Champions League. They’re always special games. We need to be at our highest level,” Kimmich told FCBayern.com.
Bayern Munich will have to achieve that highest level without Sven Ulreich, João Palhinha, Josip Stanišić, Hiroki Ito and Tarek Buchmann, who all did not participate in the team training session.
Just about all of those were expected, but Buchmann, who has been injured or sick for roughly a year now, had recently participated in team training, so his absence was curious. In addition to the aforementioned players, Aleksandar Pavlović took part in the warm-up, but not the practice.
