Sacha Boey has had a difficult start to his Bayern Munich career. Riddled with injuries, Boey has had limited time to impress on the pitch. Having put forward a solid showing after coming on during Der Klassiker, Boey will hope to be given an extended run in the team and be able to impress on a consistent basis.
Boey came on for Konrad Laimer in the 62nd minute and looked good on and off the ball. Importantly, Boey, unlike Laimer, didn’t make any mistakes, which led to a Borussia Dortmund goal.
After the match, Boey was captured by Sky Sports reporter Kerry Hau (via @iMiaSanMia) speaking about his contribution to the game, saying, “I’m happy to be back on the pitch with the team and to be able to help. I’m doing very well, I feel better and better in the team.”
With Josip Stanišić injured, and neither Konrad Laimer nor Raphaël Guerreiro making a case to be a nailed-on starter, Boey’s chance is now. Hopefully, he can continue to build on his performances and feel confident in doing so.
