Chelsea lead 2-0 at Stamford Bridge before the first half is out.
It started with Romeo Lavia snapping into a tackle to win the ball in midfield. He laid it off to Moises Caicedo, who plays it first time to Enzo Fernandez, who plays it first time to Cole Palmer in a pocket of space.
Palmer then returns it with a perfectly weighted ball to the advancing Argentine. Enzo’s touch bobbled the ball up (to be fair he was at full sprint into the box) but he used the bounce to his advantage by smacking the ball on the volley with the outside of his foot past Emi Martinez.
It was a great goal – 2 in 2 for Fernandez, and 2 in an impressive first half performance from Chelsea. This game is far from over, but we look a fearsome attacking threat at the moment with so many dangerous players on the pitch at once.

Enzo finding himself in dangerous positions in new role
This is the second game in a row we’ve seen Enzo used as an attacking midfielder playing just off the front line – and it’s no surprise that he’s scored in both games. That’s the first time he’s scored in consecutive games as a Chelsea player.
His time at the club so far has seen him used in a number of roles without ever managing to really seem to get the most out of him. Now, with two midfielders behind him and options either side, he’s able to get into the box and affect the game. He’s got 3 goal contributions in his last 135 minutes of football.
